Ifeanyi, the son of the Nigerian musician, Adeleke David also known as Davido and Chioma Rowland reportedly died by drowning at his Davido’s Banana Island home.
He was rushed to Evercare Hospital in Lekki, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Davido and Chioma had traveled for a family meeting to Ibadan yesterday and had left the three years old Ifeanyi under the care of his minders who can’t explain how he got into the swimming pool without being noticed and drowned.
Davido, distressed and inconsolable, was taken from Evercare Hospital and transferred to his father’s house, where he remains as of the time of recording this report.
Ifeanyi’s death came as a shock and a number of celebrities have taken to their Instagram page to express their sorrow.
“When the person you love is someone involved,” said Daddy Freeze, a TV personality who went live on Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday morning. I’m not confirming anything, but please bear with me because I won’t be online tonight.”
Also, a well known skit maker, Lasisi Elenu also posted, “Father heal your children’s heart from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord.”
Makun, in an Instagram post shared early Tuesday, today wrote, “The death of a child is unnatural, unfair, and tragic, this hit me so bad.”
As of early Tuesday morning, Ifeanyi’s death was the most trending topic on Twitter.
The rumored death came from a now deleted tweet of Nigerian Actress, Eniola Badmus.
Nigerians were sad about what happened, but they criticized her for letting out such sensitive information.
