Chelsea interested in signing Bruno Guimaraes, and Newcastle are preparing a contract offer that would set a club record.

Chelsea could make a move to sign Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle  but the Magpies aim to deter the interest by handing him a lucrative contract.

In order to strengthen their midfield, the Blues are considering making a move for Guimaraes in the January transfer window. Newcastle, on the other hand, are determined to keep the Brazilian and are willing to provide the club’s largest-ever deal to persuade the midfielder to stay at St James’ Park for the foreseeable future.

Guimaraes joined the Premier League club from Lyon in January this year, signing a contract that will last until 2026. Newcastle could offer him a deal worth about £200,000 per week, making him the highest-paid player on the team and shattering their previous contract record.

In order to strengthen their midfield in the upcoming transfer windows, Chelsea is looking to bring the player to Stamford Bridge. After experiencing a setback in his recovery, N’Golo Kante was declared out indefinitely. Meanwhile, Jorginho, an Italian international, could leave the team when his contract expires at the end of the season.
